Born in Sumter County, Georgia on February 23, 1970 to the parentage of Mr. Eddie Butts and Mrs. Mary Jenkins Butts both of Americus, Georgia. He received his education in the public schools of Sumter County, a graduate of the 1988 Class of Americus High School. He was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Melvin McCluster. Eddie was a lover of the Arts and full of life. His personality and spirit could light up any room. He will be missed by all.


In addition to his parents, he is survived by two brothers, Mr. Timothy Butts and Mr. Jeremiah (Brenetta) Butts of Americus, GA; two sisters, Ms. Eddie Jean Butts, Buffalo, NY and Ms. Niya Butts, Tucson, AZ; his grandparents, Ms. Reatha Jenkins and Ms. Eunice Butts, Americus, GA; his great grandmother, Ms. Hattie Jenkins, Atlanta, GA; his aunts and uncles, Ms. Eddie Rene Williams, Mrs. Ruby (Leroy) Smith, Mrs. Martha (Ray) Johnson, Mrs. Valarie (Rahman) Grimes, Mrs. Jennifer (Rico) Dawson, Ms. Mildred Snead, Ms. Janie Ruth Butts, Ms. Bobbie Jean Wise, Ms. Thelma Hayes, Ms. Gail Peeples, Mr. William Jenkins, Mr. Mike Jenkins and Mr. James Butts all of Americus, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends, including devoted friends, Keith Taylor, Tyrone Daniels, Lorenzo Hill, Eron McClendon, Johnathan Hill, Marissa Armstead, Corey Edwards, LaCarlos Allen, Dorian Stewart, Brooke Denise Martin, Ron Lewis, Latrina Patrick, Natalia Scott Dypree and the entire Ebony Family also survive.
