Funeral services for the late Mr. Elbert Lee Banks of Americus, GA who passed on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 in the Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital will be held Saturday, December 8, 2018 from the Power of Faith Deliverance Church at 11:00 a.m. Overseer Linda Mathis will officiate and burial will follow in the Zion Hope cemetery in Leslie, GA. Mr. Banks will lie in repose one hour prior to the services.



             Mr. Elbert Lee Banks was born in Sumter County, Georgia on December 3, 1950 to the parentage of the late Mr. Lewis Banks and the Mrs. Ruby Mae Lillard Banks. He received his education in the public schools of Sumter County. At an early age, he joined the Union Tabernacle Baptist Church. For the last 18 years he was a member of the Power of Faith Deliverance Church, under the leadership of Pastor Overseer Linda Mathis. He was employed at King Customs in Ellaville, GA and after many years at the Americus Bean Plant.


           He is preceded in death by11 siblings: Curtis Banks, Sr., Lewis Banks, Jr., Queen E. Smith, Alfred Banks, Eugene Banks, Rachel Banks, David Banks, Diane Banks, Douglas Banks, Baby girl Banks and Romell Banks.


           He leaves to cherish his memories: his son, Mr. Dominique Banks, Sr., Americus, GA; two grandchildren, Mr. Dominique Banks, Jr. and Ms. Dazanyi “Sassy” Banks both of Americus, GA; two sisters-in-law, Ms. Annie Bell Banks and Ms. Virginia Banks both of Americus, GA; one brother-in-law, Mr. Johnny Smith, Sr., Americus, GA; and a host of nieces, including a devoted niece and caregiver, Ms. Cotina Banks, nephews, cousins’ other relatives and friends also survive.
