Funeral arrangements for the late Mr. Jimmy Lee Clemons of Americus, Georgia who passed on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 from the Dekalb Medical Center will be held Saturday, December 15, 2018 from the Bethesda Missionary Baptist Church at 2:30 p.m. Rev. KeAnthony Brooks will officiate and burial will follow in the Eastview cemetery. Mr. Clemons will lie in repose one hour prior to the services.


       Mr. Jimmy Lee Clemons was born on January 30, 1941, in Americus, Georgia to the late Mr. Willie C. Clemons and the late Mrs. Mary Turner Clemons. He was educated in the Sumter County School System. In 1970, he relocated to Decatur, Georgia, where he managed convenient stores for many years. He retired from the Dekalb County Board of Health in 2010. At an early age, he joined the Peace Baptist Church, now called Union Tabernacle Baptist Church. Later, he attended Bethel Baptist Church in Decatur, Georgia. 


       He is preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond “Pro” Clemons and Willie Clarence Clemons; two sisters, Bernice Clemons Tyson and Thelma Clemons; his father and mother-in-law, Jerry and Nancy Johnson; two sisters-in-law, Mary Lou Clemons and Lorraine Pickett.


       He leaves to cherish his memory: his loving wife of 49 years, Mrs. Faustine Johnson Clemons, Decatur, Georgia;  three sons: Mr. Jimmy Clemons, Jr., Americus, Georgia; Mr. Sterling Clemons, Tampa, Florida and Mr. Cornelia Walker, Pinellas Park, Florida;  two daughters, Mrs. Pamela (Anthony) Bush, Grovetown, Georgia and Ms. Thomasena Williams, Stockbridge, Georgia; a grandson that he raised, Mr. Jimmy Clemons, III, Decatur, Georgia; two brothers, Mr. Lee Marshall (Mary) Howard, Atlanta, Georgia and Mr. Curtis Terry, Americus, Georgia; three sisters: Ms. Sara Clemons, Ms. Mary Tatum, both of Americus, Georgia and Mrs. Shirley (George) Combs, McMurray, Pennsylvania; his grandchildren: Jamie, Valencia, Terence, Kyndrell, Danny, Zavien, Jasmine, Richard and Kazana; great-grandchildren; two brothers-in-law, including a devoted brother-in-law, Mr. Wayne Johnson and Mr. Winfred (Patsy) Johnson; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Octavia (Henry) Keith; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends, including Mr. Otisteen (Elizabeth) Smith, Mr. Shawn Minter and Mr. Jimmy Milliner and his pet turtle, Bubbalina.
